# Email verification

> Verify your email address to activate your Chemolytic account.

After signing up with an email and password, Chemolytic sends a verification email before you can log in. This confirms you own the address and protects your account.

## How it works

    After clicking **Create account**, you are shown a "Check your inbox" screen.

  <Step title="Open the verification email">
    Find the email from Chemolytic in your inbox. Check the spam or junk folder if it's not there.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click the verification link">
    The link is valid for a limited time. Clicking it confirms your email and logs you in automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You're in">
    You land on the Projects page inside your personal organization.
  </Step>

<Note>
  If you signed up with Google or Microsoft, email verification is handled by those providers. You are logged in immediately with no extra step.

## Troubleshooting

    Check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, go to the login page. You will see an option to resend the verification email if your account is unverified.

    Verification links expire after a short time. Go to the login page and request a new verification email.
